The music program at Trinity-by-the-Cove is anchored by a pipe organ that can accompany choral music, foster congregational singing, and stand alone as a concert instrument. Hurricane Ian will be written in our history, like Hurricane Donna, causing great damage, which includes our Casavant Organ, first installed in 1971.
Because the damage from Hurricane Ian was so extensive, with no promise that a restored organ will sound as beautiful as we would like, the vestry discerned the need to pursue a new instrument.
Music in worship and a beautiful organ will without a doubt continue our excellence in worship and invite people into the church as our organ offers expression to console us at funerals, excite us at weddings and draw our hearts and imaginations closer to God.
