Saturday, December 6th
Please mark your calendars now to attend our Advent Quiet Morning, on Saturday, December 6th. All are invited and encouraged to attend as we head into our season of Advent here at Trinity-by-the-Cove.
Bishop Douglas Scharf will lead our Quiet Day entitled "O Come, O Come, Emmanuel" and offer series of mediations on the O Antiphons.
For hundreds of years, Christians have prepared for the celebration of Christ’s birth by recalling the witness of the ancient prophets of Israel who pointed forward to the coming of the Messiah. One ancient tradition, dating to at least the sixth century, is the singing of the “O Antiphons,” which are represented in the familiar hymn, O Come, O Come, Emmanuel. Each verse of this hymn focuses on a different name or title for the Messiah, such as “Key of David” and “Bright and Morning Star.” During this Advent Quiet Day, we will be reflecting these traditional titles for Christ and how they shape our understanding of salvation (and we just might sing a little, too). The day will include short meditations by Bishop Scharf followed by time for silence and quiet contemplation.
Our morning begins at 8:30 a.m. with fellowship gathering in the Parish Hall where the members of the Daughters of the King Chapter here at Trinity will spoil you with some yummy treats to start your day off properly. The morning concludes with a service of Holy Eucharist at noon.

All are welcome to join us for breakfast on Monday, December 8th at 8:00 a.m. and welcome guest speaker Chris Rozansky of the Naples Airport Authority.
