Shrove Tuesday Pancake Supper & Burning of the Palms
Tuesday, February 9th
5:00 p.m.

Trinity-by- the-Cove will host our annual Shrove Tuesday Pancake Supper and Liturgy of the Palms on Tuesday, February 9th,  at 5pm.  Besides some great food, there will be a goodwill offering for the supper to benefit a community in conjunction with Episcopal Relief and Development.  Specifically, we are looking to buy a Rainwater Harvesting Catchment System for a community in Sri Lanka. This effort supports ERD’s post-disaster plan for filtering and treating rainwater to supply a community with safe drinking water year-round.

Please email Jim Wheeler jw2447@me.com or Debbie Finch lynch2finch@aol.com with any questions. And, please bring in your palms from last year to burn for this year’s ashes.

Men's Retreat
February 12th & 13th

The men of Trinity are invited and encouraged to take part in our second annual retreat which will take place on Friday evening, February 12th, and Saturday morning, February 13th. The format of the retreat will be the same as last year with supper and a presentation on Friday night (5:30-8:30 p.m.)  and reflections and quiet time on Saturday morning (8:30-1 pm) with a celebration of the Holy Eucharist and a box lunch. Last year’s retreat was very well-received and a follow-up questionnaire indicated that there was a desire to repeat the event. The leader of this year’s retreat will be Brother Luke Ditewig, a member of the Society of St. John the Evangelist, a monastic community in Cambridge, Massachusetts. Brother Luke is a graduate of Princeton Theological Seminary and has been with the Society for a number of years. The cost of the retreat will be $50, to defray expenses of the meals and speaker, but scholarship assistance is available. Participants will be limited to 30. There is a sign-up sheet in the Parish Hall.
