“Come away with me and rest awhile”
Mark 6:31
This invitation, spoken by Jesus in the Gospel of Mark, is the essence of contemplative prayer. The Contemplative Prayer group meets on Tuesdays at 1:30 pm in the library for about an hour. As a guide for our prayer practice we use “The Daily Reader for Contemplative Living” based on the works and teachings of Father Thomas Keating.
The group is open to anyone whether you have experience in this type of prayer or not. For more information you may contact Deacon Mary Echols or just come to the library and discover for yourself the restorative power of silent prayer.
